A Town Planning Supervisor with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) was caught by the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday (October 5, 2026) while allegedly accepting ₹4 lakh as part payment of an ₹8 lakh bribe to allow a complainant to proceed with building construction.

The accused officer, Tulasiram Sunitha, is a Town Planning Supervisor at GHMC’s Golconda Zone, Circle 33, Mehdipatnam.

According to the ACB, Sunitha allegedly demanded ₹8 lakh to ignore speaking orders issued by the GHMC Deputy Commissioner, allow the complainant to continue with the building construction, refrain from causing further harassment and extend cooperation in the future.

ACB City Range-I officials caught her while she was allegedly accepting ₹4 lakh as part payment of the demanded amount. The tainted money was recovered from her possession.

During the operation, officials also found ₹2.5 lakh in unaccounted cash in her possession. The amount was seized along with the alleged bribe money.

The ACB alleged that the officer had performed her duties improperly and dishonestly to obtain an undue advantage. Sunitha was produced before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at Nampally for judicial remand. The case is under investigation, while the complainant’s details have been withheld for security reasons.
