Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to issue a survey notification immediately to identify 45 acres of land that are unaccounted for in Survey No. 325 in Erravalli village and its hamlet, Venkatapuram in Markook mandal of Siddipet district.

Notices would also be issued to obtain the land records of former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his family members, whose land was located near Survey No. 325. Mr. Reddy directed that any land identified during the survey be distributed among eligible local farmers.

The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the inquiry into the land after allegations of ‘land grabbing’ against the BRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao emerged regarding the construction of his farmhouse. Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, CMO Principal Secretary Seshadri, and members of the committees constituted to inquire into land irregularities and Dharani-related issues attended the meeting.

Officials informed the Chief Minister that revenue records showed 388 acres in Survey No. 325 in Erravalli, while a recent survey had established the availability of only 343 acres. The 45-acre difference needs to be traced and accounted for, they said.

Mr. Revanth Reddy directed officials to issue a notification for a fresh survey covering Erravalli and Venkatapuram to establish the whereabouts of the missing land.

‘Telangana Martyrs’ Colony’

Mr. Reddy also ordered the construction of a ‘Telangana Martyrs’ Colony’ for the families of those who sacrificed their lives during the Telangana movement. House sites should be allotted to eligible martyrs’ families and the colony developed with all necessary infrastructure, he said.

He asked the Housing Department to take up responsibility for the project and complete the colony by June 2 next year.

At Velikatta in Kondapak mandal, the Chief Minister proposed setting up an education hub, including a Young India Integrated School, on lands other than assigned lands and those earmarked for Mission Bhagiratha.

He also directed officials to exercise caution in the use of water from reservoirs and tanks in view of the El Niño conditions. Officials were asked to identify those using Mallanna Sagar water without authorisation and take appropriate action against them.
