The Telangana government has divided the single elevated corridor work from Jubilee Hills Checkpost to NFCL Junction, Hyderabad, into two parts to adjust it into the two packages of the hitherto cancelled components, previously approved, tendered and awarded.
Flyover and underpass works at TV9 junction and NFCL Junction cancelled
The orders issued by the Metropolitan Area and Urban Development department on Tuesday (October 7, 2026) approved the proposal by the Commissioner, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), to revise the scope of the infrastructural components, and cancelled the previously approved flyover and underpass works at TV9 junction and NFCL Junction.
Jubilee Hills Check Post Junction-Muffakham Jah College continuous corridor
Under the revised plan, the flyover project will be taken up as a continuous corridor from Jubilee Hills Check Post Junction to Muffakham Jah College, with a connecting ramp to Banjara Hills Road No. 1. The work, in two packages, will be entrusted to the existing contractor Megha Engineering & Infrastructures (MEIL).
First part of the steel flyover from Jubilee Hills Check Post Junction to Mugdha Junction
The scope of Package-1 has been changed from the proposed flyovers and underpasses at Jubilee Hills Check Post, KBR Park Entrance and Mugdha junctions to the first part of the steel flyover from Jubilee Hills Check Post Junction to Mugdha Junction. The work will remain within the sanctioned project cost of ₹580 crore, while the Internal Bench March has been revised from previous ₹322.16 crore to ₹365.85 crore.
Second part of steel flyover from Mugdha Junction to Muffakham Jah College
The scope and site of Package-2 have also been changed. Instead of the earlier proposal covering Road No. 45, Film Nagar, Maharaja Agrasen and Cancer Hospital junctions, the package will now comprise the second part of the steel flyover from Mugdha Junction to Muffakham Jah College, along with a connecting ramp to Banjara Hills Road No. 1. The sanctioned project cost remains ₹510 crore, with the revised IBM cost at ₹349.31 crore, up from the original ₹272.89 crore.
The government has also cancelled the proposed two-lane unidirectional flyover at NFCL Junction and the two-lane unidirectional underpass and three-lane unidirectional flyover at TV9 Junction. The letter of acceptance issued to KNR Constructions for these works has been revoked, with the deposits paid during the tender process to be refunded.
The government permitted GHMC to place the revised proposals before EPC (Engineering-Procurement-Construction) Committee and allowed the existing project management consultants for both KBR Park packages to continue. It also ratified GHMC’s action in modifying the designs and proceeding with the revised scope.
