The Confederation of Real Estate Developers Associations of India (Credai) Tamil Nadu will host the fifth edition of STATECON, its flagship event for the real estate and construction industry, on October 11 and 12, 2026. This year, Credai Tamil Nadu will also launch the first edition of FAIRBUILD 2026, a B2B expo for construction and building materials, which will be held alongside STATECON.

“FAIRBUILD connects vendors, suppliers and original equipment manufacturers with real estate developers, architects, and key decision makers,” said W.S. Habib, president of Credai Tamil Nadu.

Credai is also expanding its network to more cities and towns across Tamil Nadu. Currently, Credai Tamil Nadu has a presence in 10 cities. “We will be adding five more chapters, taking the total to 15. The new chapters will include Coonoor and Ooty in the Nilgiris, Kodaikanal, Vellore, Thanjavur, and Karur. This will be the first time Credai will have chapters in hill stations,” Mr. Habib said.

The head of Credai in Tamil Nadu also pointed out that there is no corruption in the sector now, which is a big relief. “We have a government that says no to bribes,” he said. To a query on whether construction costs have gone up, Mr. Habib said: “Raw material costs are rising. However, the situation is better than it was during the war.”

STATECON 2026 will feature focused discussions on the issues that matter most to the sector today. Sessions will examine the growth drivers of Tamil Nadu’s real estate market, the changing expectations of the new homebuyer and access to capital. They will also cover policy and ease of doing business, the impact of AI and PropTech, and the growing role of robotics and emerging construction technologies in how projects are planned and built. “There will be discussions on issues like labor shortage,” Mr. Habib said.
