The Charminar Zone police registered 27 cases against 51 persons for violating sound restrictions and creating public nuisance during the Ganesh festival celebrations in Hyderabad this year. The police also seized 68 sound boxes and 21 amplifiers used in violation of the prescribed guidelines.

According to the DCP Charminar zone, Kiran Khare, the violators were identified through CCTV footage and field-level monitoring conducted during the festival. The violations primarily involved the use of DJ sound systems, excessively loud music and activities causing inconvenience to the public.

All 51 persons were subsequently summoned to the office of the DCP, where they were counselled and warned against repeating such violations during religious festivals and public gatherings.

DCP Khare, along with the Additional DCP, directed police officers to ensure that public celebrations were conducted peacefully without causing inconvenience to residents.

The DCP also appealed to youngsters and festival organisers to refrain from using excessively loud sound systems and cooperate with the police in maintaining public safety and communal harmony.

“Celebration is everyone’s right, but public safety is everyone’s responsibility. Charminar Zone Police will stand with the public, but violations of law and safety norms will not be permitted. Let us celebrate with devotion, discipline and responsibility,” the officer said.
