Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy condemns alleged lathicharge on Khammam MP

Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has condemned the alleged lathicharge on Khammam MP R. Raghuram Reddy by police in New Delhi during an INDIA bloc-led protest demanding the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar in New Delhi on Wednesday.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, the Minister alleged that the MP was injured after police used batons as he was  proceeding towards Jantar Mantar along with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Mr. Srinivas Reddy said it was unfortunate that Opposition parties were being stopped from holding a protest over the issue of voting rights  and that such actions were against the spirit of democracy.
