Karimnagar Circle of the Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd (TGNPDCL) has become the first circle in the discom to achieve 100% in establishing the Real-Time Feeder Monitoring System (RTFMS) with all the 82 substations getting integrated with the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system.

According to Chairman and Managing Director of the TGNPDCL K. Varun Reddy, the discom has been implementing RTFMS on a wider scale to improve the quality and reliability of power supply, reduce interruptions, identify and resolve technical problems quickly and efficiently monitor feeder performance. The utility is extensively adopting modern technology to provide consumers with better services and more reliable and uninterrupted power supply, he stated.

Mr. Varun Reddy stated on Friday that 1,005 substations across TGNPDCL have been integrated with SCADA under the RTFMS initiative so far and the remaining 419 would be integrated within the next two months. Hanumakonda, Khammam and Komaram Bheem-Asifabad circles would soon achieve 100% integration, he added.

Explaining the benefits of RTFMS, the CMD said the system enables real-time monitoring of feeder performance and helps identify power interruptions, overloading and voltage fluctuations immediately. It also enables prompt alerts to field-level personnel, facilitating faster response and restoration of power supply.

He reiterated that TGNPDCL is committed to adopting advanced technologies across its operational network to strengthen the power distribution system, enhance operational efficiency and provide consumers with quality, reliable and uninterrupted power supply.
