Working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) K.T. Rama Rao extended best wishes to the people of Telangana on the 10th anniversary of formation of new districtss on October 10 in 2016.

The then Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao had decentralised the administration by reorganising districts from 10 to 33 and had taken the administration much closer to the people. The formation of new districts had not only realised people’s demand for new districts for decades but were named, identifying the significance of those areas.

People were forced to travel at least 100 km to 150 km in the past to go to their district headquarters on any work related to administration, but now they were within 100 km and in some cases within 50 km from even the remotest corner of the district.

New districts had also taken the key government offices even to the far-off areas. The units of governance had also improved public health by making it possible to establish new hospitals. The reach of welfare and development schemes had become faster with the government offices spread to more areas, Mr. Rama Rao said.
