Foundation stone laid for expansion of Anandapuram Junction

Bheemunipatnam MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for the expansion of Anandapuram junction, a key traffic intersection witnessing growing congestion amid increasing vehicular movement and anticipated traffic from Bhogapuram International Airport, with a budget of ₹81 lakh.

The project aims to ease traffic bottlenecks, improve traffic flow and enhance connectivity at the strategically important junction.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said Anandapuram junction had become a major traffic bottleneck, with vehicular movement increasing significantly in recent times. The opening of the proposed Bhogapuram international airport was expected to put further pressure on the junction, necessitating its expansion to facilitate smoother traffic flow.

He instructed the contractor and officials concerned to complete the works within the stipulated deadline, keeping in view the importance of the junction and the need to address traffic congestion at the earliest.

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Deputy Manager Gopikrishna and several alliance leaders attended the programme.
