Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Andhra Pradesh unit president Palla Srinivasa Rao has accused the YSRCP leaders of sabotaging the aspirations of people of North Andhra region for vested interests.

“The YSRCP had previously tried to block TCS through litigation and is now conspiring to derail the Google project as well. The agenda of YSRCP leaders is not the welfare of farmers, but the protection of their benami lands,” he told the media at Gajuwaka on Friday (October 3, 2025).

Mr. Srinivasa Rao alleged that investments worth around ₹50,000 crore in Visakhapatnam were under threat due to the YSRCP.

The government has earmarked 200 acres at Bheemunipatnam and Tarulavada for a Google Data Centre, offering compensation of ₹19.55 lakh per acre to farmers.

“But, the YSRCP leaders have moved the courts under the guise of farmers. But in reality, they are trying to safeguard lands acquired in benami names. They have even filed cases in the names of deceased farmers to create a façade of resistance,” he said.

The Gajuwaka MLA also alleged that it was during the YSRCP leaders, during their party’s tenure, aided by pliant bureaucrats, cornered vast tracts of land in Anandapuram, Padmanabham, Pendurthi, and Bheemunipatnam mandals on benami names. “Nearly 300 acres were usurped in this manner. Now that these very parcels have been allocated to Google, they are attempting to erect legal hurdles to protect their illicit acquisitions,” Mr. Srinivasa Rao alleged.

He insisted that the ₹50,000-crore investment proposed by Google would be a game-changer for Andhra Pradesh’s economy, creating employment and placing Visakhapatnam firmly on the global digital map.
