A delegation from Foxconn, a multinational electronics manufacturer, met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Monday (October 13, 2025) and announced a ₹15,000-crore investment in the State, 14,000 engineering jobs, and a dedicated Foxconn Desk at Guidance, the State’s nodal agency for investment promotion.
“In a major boost to Tamil Nadu’s electronics and advanced manufacturing landscape, a delegation from Foxconn, led by Mr. Robert Wu, India representative and senior global executive of Foxconn, met with Mr. Stalin, today, along with Minister for Industries, T.R.B. Rajaa and top officials of the State,” an official release said.
The meeting marks a new milestone in Foxconn’s strategic engagement with the State, reaffirming Tamil Nadu’s position as a global hub for high-value manufacturing, exports, and engineering innovation, it added.

Foxconn Desk
During the meeting, Foxconn announced the establishment of the first-ever Foxconn Desk in India at Guidance Tamil Nadu to ensure faster coordination, investor facilitation, and mission-mode engagement across projects.
The company also announced a major investment commitment of ₹15,000 crore in Tamil Nadu, accelerating emerging tech manufacturing and strengthening the relationship between Foxconn and Tamilnadu .
It also announced the creation of 14,000 new high-value jobs, with a special focus on engineering graduates and highly skilled youth, signalling Foxconn’s shift towards value-added manufacturing, R&D integration, and technology-led operations in Tamil Nadu, the release said.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Robert Wu expressed Foxconn’s confidence in Tamil Nadu’s governance model, proactive industrial policies, and world-class talent pool under Mr. Stalin’s government, according to the release.
He noted that Tamil Nadu’s infrastructure readiness, ease of doing business reforms, and future-focused policy leadership make it a preferred destination for Foxconn’s next phase of growth in India, including strategic verticals such as battery technologies and AI-led manufacturing systems, it added.
CM assures support
Mr. Stalin welcomed Foxconn’s continued expansion and assured full support through the State’s Industries Department’s single-window investment facilitation mechanism, talent development partnerships, and dedicated executive coordination through the new Foxconn Desk at Guidance.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to positioning Tamil Nadu as a global electronics and advanced manufacturing powerhouse, deeply integrated into international value chains.
This new initiative underscores Tamil Nadu’s transformation from a manufacturing destination to a strategic innovation and engineering hub for the global supply chain, the statement said.
Foxconn will bring its next phase of value-added manufacturing, R&D integration, and AI-led advanced tech operations to Tamil Nadu, Mr. Rajaa said in a post on X.
