The third generation of BRS chief Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao’s (KCR) family is all set to take a plunge into politics, it is believed, going by the surprise appearance of Aditya, son of MLC and Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntal Kavitha, at a political event.

Aditya was seen at the Telangana Jagruthi’s protest during the State-wide BC Bandh demanding 42% reservations for Backward Classes. The presence of Aditya, freshly returned from abroad after completing his studies, caught everyone’s attention.

He was rarely seen in public earlier but joining his mother in a political demonstration raising slogans and interacting with activists. Dressed casually and smiling confidently, he drew admiration and curiosity from the crowds.

Holding an engineering degree from the US, Aditya carries his paternal surname Devanapally just like his mother who continues to use her paternal surname Kalvakuntla. Sources close to the family say, he carries himself with ease among public just like his maternal uncle K.T. Rama Rao.

Though he may be interested in politics, family sources say he is likely to continue his Masters in the USA before coming back to serious politics in India. The public appearance may be accidental and not a well-planned introduction. But going by Ms. Kavitha’s future plans, he is likely to be groomed for future leadership, more so when his cousin (KTR’s son) has not shown serious political interests so far.

Having distanced herself from her father Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao, Ms. Kavitha may not leave any opportunity to occupy the political space within the family whenever the transition from Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao happens. With Aditya at her side, not just as a son but also as a political supporter, Ms. Kavitha may be weaving a new plan to stamp her political authority in the BRS in future.
