Mantri Mall paid ₹6.50 crore of its pending property tax on Friday, days after the mall was shut down on November 20 for accumulating arrears amounting to ₹30 crore.

The payment was made in compliance with the High Court’s order, said Central Corporation Commissioner Rajendra Cholan P.

Mr. Cholan received the pending taxes during his visit to the corporation’s property tax verification centre in Chickpet.

He said the corporation has intensified its enforcement efforts. “The central corporation has many commercial establishments, and several have pending tax payments. We are doing a follow up on those establishments,” he said.

He also directed officials to prepare a complete list of all property tax defaulters, issue notices to them, and initiate the sealing of properties that fail to clear their arrears promptly.
