INSPIRE-MANAK

The valedictory function of INSPIRE-MANAK, state level science exhibition and competition for the academic years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, was held at National Engineering College(NEC), Kovilpatti.

The event was jointly organised by Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, National Innovation Foundation (NIF), Ahmedabad and NEC, in coordination with Tamil Nadu School Education Department.

Higher Education Minister Govi. Chezhiaan attended the event as chief guest and presented the awards to students, who won in competitions.

A total of 2,188 students from government, aided and private schools across 38 districts of Tamil Nadu were selected, out of which 194 students participated in the state level competition.

P. Merin Dayana, assistant researcher, NIF, K. Shanmuga Sundaram, executive director, Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre, K.R. Arunachalam, correspondent, NEC were among those present at the event.

Alumni meet

The Pearl jubilee alumni association of the 1991-1995 batch of National Engineering College, Kovilpatti was held at the college campus on Friday (November 28). More than 60 alumni participated at the event.

They shared their valuable experience with the students on the expectation of leading industries for securing better employment opportunities. They also contributed Rs 2 lakh towards scholarship fund to support deserving and economically disadvantaged students, currently studying at the college.

International Conference on Mental Health

Maria Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Attoor in Kanniyakumari district, hosted a two day International Conference on Mental Health titled “PRAVAHA-Innovative Insights on Mental Health”. The conference has been conducted in partnership with Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.

Y. Sujar, director, Maria Group of Institutions delivered the presidential address.

Clarence Devy, principal, Government Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, D. Beno, principal. Maria Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital and other key speakers and dignitaries from college management were present.

33rd convocation of NICHE

Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE), Kumaracoil, celebrated its 33rd convocation ceremony with its academic splendour at NICHE’S convocation hall.

V. Narayanan, chairman of ISRO attended the event as chief guest. During his convocation address, he outlined India’s remarkable growth across sectors and urged graduates to contribute to the nation’s continued development. He also awarded the gold medals and degree certificates to successful graduates.

P. Faizal Rahaman, former vice-chancellor and UGC Nominee, K.A. Janardhanan, pro vice chancellor, P. Thirumavalavan, registrar & pro vice chancellor, M.K. Jeyakumar, controller of examination and other board members and staff were present.
