Work under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0 scheme, including drone survey, to prepare Geographic Information System-based (GIS) master plans for 49 towns in the State is currently progressing. The government has reconstituted the Consultancy Evaluation and Review Committee (CERC), with the Mission Director of AMRUT as its chairperson.
The CERC is tasked with monitoring and reviewing the works of the consultants which are hired to prepare the master plans. Works under AMRUT 1.0 scheme were carried out in-house and the same was monitored by a Monitoring and Review Committee. But, as the work under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme is proposed to be outsourced to consultants, the CERC was constituted. The CERC reports to the State Level Technical Committee (SLTC) chaired by the Principal Secretary, Local Self Government department.
The work for the master plan, including drone survey and bidding process, is progressing. Requests for proposals will be called for engaging consultants for the preparation of the GIS-based master plans after the Survey of India provides the drone data.
The reconstituted CERC will also consist of the Chief Town Planner; director, LSGD Urban; representatives of the Disaster Management Authority and the Director of Survey and Land Records; the executive director of Information Kerala Mission; and other officials.
