The coal town of Kothagudem in Telangana’s mineral rich Bhadradri Kothagudem district is all set to emerge as a major educational hub as the stage is set for the inauguration of Dr. Manmohan Singh Earth Sciences University of Telangana in Kothagudem on Tuesday (December 2).
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is scheduled to inaugurate the University, billed as the first-of-its-kind higher education institution dedicated for earth sciences in the country, near the IDOC building abutting the Kothagudem-Palvancha main road on Tuesday.
According to official sources, the University will offer courses in Geology, Geophysics, Geochemistry and Environmental Sciences among other allied disciplines.
Meanwhile, elaborate bandobust arrangements have been made for the Chief Minister’s visit to Kothagudem. Around 900 police personnel have been deployed for the bandobust duty.
