Minister hands over solatium to families of Kadayanallur bus accident victims

Revenue Minister K. K. S. S. R. Ramachandran on Monday handed over the government solatium to the families of six persons, who were killed in the head-on collision of two private buses near Kadayanallur on November 24 last.

While ₹3 lakh each was given to the families of the six deceased, ₹1 lakh each was given to the families of the 35 seriously injured passengers and ₹50,000 each was given to families of passengers who sustained minor injuries.

Mr. Ramachandran also flagged-off 16 new town buses to be operated in 13 new routes including Tenkasi to Alangulam via Surandai, Tenkasi to Veeraanam, Alangulam – Kadayam, Sankarankovil – Surandai, Sankarankovil – Vasudevanallur, Alangulam – Panavadalichathram, Sankarankovil – Maruthankinaru, Kadayanallur – Shencottai, Kadayanallur – Surandai, Sundaresapuram – Tenkasi, Agasthiyarpatti – Paavoorchathram, Alangulam – Mela Kalangal and Shencottai – Thekkumedu.

District Collector A. K. Kamal Kishore, MLAs T. Sadan Thirumalaikumar and E. Raja were present.
