The city police on Tuesday arrested M. Nagulmeera, a youth from Guntur, for allegedly threatening a woman by morphing her photographs and demanding money. According to the cyber crime police, a woman from the city became acquainted with him on Instagram, where he befriended her and claimed he could help her secure a NEET seat. After gaining her trust, he collected her photographs.

He later told her that obtaining a NEET seat would cost ₹30 lakh and demanded the amount. When she refused, he allegedly morphed her photographs into nude images. He then created a fake WhatsApp account and sent her the morphed pictures along with threatening messages demanding money.

Frightened by the threats, the woman approached the Cyber Crime Police Station and filed a complaint. Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested him. The investigation also revealed that he had previously committed a similar offence and cheated another woman from the city of ₹3.50 lakh.
