State Revenue Minister and district in-charge Minister Anagani Satya Prasad sought complete support from the public representatives for the formation of Greater Tirupati Municipal Corporation (GTMC). Along with local MLAs Arani Srinivasulu and Nelavala Vijaya Sree, he participated in the District Review Committee (DRC) meeting in Tirupati, on Tuesday.

After reviewing various development programmes in the district, he said that Tirupati Municipal Corporation (TMC) was currently spread over an area of 30.174 sq. km and it needed to be expanded to 270.23 sq. km to become GTMC. For this, the public representatives of the district should provide their full support, he said.

“Settipalli issue, which had been pending for many years, was resolved and the concerned beneficiaries should be given the land titles within a stipulated time. The Flamingo festival should be organised on a grand scale at Pulicat lake and Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary in January 2026,” Mr. Satya Prasad added.

He said that proposals for land acquisition related to the ‘Housing for all’ programme should be sent to the government. The Minister assured that he would talk to the concerned minister regarding the TIDCO houses and take action. He also said that steps will be taken to remove the private lands, which were not in the Endowment limits, from 22A (prohibitory lands register).

The Revenu Minister said that steps will be taken to allocate funds in the upcoming budget for the construction of RDO offices in Sullurpet and Srikalahasti, as well as renovation of government offices at Kota, Vakadu, Balayapalle, Venkatagiri, Ojili, Pellakur, Satyavedu, Thottambedu, Nagalapuram and Narayanavanam.

He also inaugurated the Sakhi – One Stop Centre vehicle at the Collectorate. He said that any woman facing violence in the society can approach the centre for help. The State government has set up this centre at the Government Maternity Hospital to stand by women in distress and those facing violence in the society. The women helpline 181 is a toll-free number to provide free counselling, legal aid, police assistance, medical assistance and emergency shelter at the Sakhi One Stop Centre.
