A man, who allegedly killed his elder brother and tried to project it as a road accident death, to fraudulently claim insurance money, landed behind the bars along with his two accomplices in Ramadugu of Karimnagar district.

According to the police, the main accused, 30-year-old Mamidi Naresh, allegedly murdered his own 37-year-old brother Venkatesh, three days ago in Ramadugu after buying insurance policies of different companies worth lakhs of rupees in the name of the latter.

He allegedly hatched the conspiracy to claim the insurance amount and clear his debts.

He allegedly executed the murder in connivance with his 28-year-old friend Rakesh and 29-year-old tipper lorry driver Pradeep, and tried to pass it off as a case of road accident.

A detailed investigation into the case by the local police unraveled the murder conspiracy, leading to the arrest of the trio on Tuesday.
