Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary M.A. Baby on Tuesday said there was a need to mobilise vast sections of the people in the struggle against the neo-fascist moves by the ruling classes in our country.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party was controlled by the “fascistic” Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and it was increasingly showing neo-fascist tendency, he alleged at a political seminar on elimination of neo-fascim organised as part of the two-day CPI (M) state committee meeting that commenced in Pudukottai.

All the powerful corporates in the country were working as the “servants” of the BJP-led Narendra Modi government and the present government at the Centre was behaving as though it was at the service of the corporates such as Ambani, Adani and Tata, Mr. Baby said.

The merger of the fascistic political rule with the dominance of the billionaires and exploiters of society could be seen in neo fascism, Mr. Baby said and added that there was a need to mobilise vast sections of people in the struggle against neo-fascist moves by the ruling classes in the country. Neo-fascism was emerging as a significant force today in various countries, including India, which was shocking, he said.

The two-day meeting is being attended by party’s State secretary P. Shanmugam, Politburo members K. Balakrishnan and U. Vasuki, central committee members P. Sampath and K. Balabharthi, party’s Gandaravakottai MLA M. Chinnadurai and other State and district-level and office-bearers.
