The Andhra Pradesh Government has authorised the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) to initiate the second phase of Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) in seven villages in Amaravati, covering 16,666.57 acres, as approved by the Cabinet.

The move follows the publication of G.O. MS. No. 252, issued by S. Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development, on Tuesday.

The order invokes the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Land Pooling Scheme (Formulation and Implementation) Rules, 2025, under which the CRDA had earlier sought permission to implement land pooling in over 20,494 acres.

The request, backed by CRDA resolution, was placed before the Group of Ministers (GoM) constituted to examine land allocation matters in the capital region.

At its 21st meeting on November 27, 2025, the GoM recommended authorising the AP CRDA Commissioner to proceed with the scheme, noting availability of 16,562.56 acres of patta land, 104.01 acres of assigned land and 3,828.30 acres of government land.

After reviewing the proposal, the government accorded approval to the Commissioner, CRDA, to begin the land pooling process in the specified seven villages under Section 55(2) of the APCRDA Act.

The notified scheme is expected to facilitate urban infrastructure and planned development in the capital region, strengthening the State’s ongoing efforts to accelerate Amaravati’s growth trajectory.

The LPS 2.0 notified seven villages are Vykuntapuram, Pedamadduru, Endroy and Karlapudi Lemalle in Amaravathi mandal of Palnadu district, and Vaddamanu, Harichandrapuram and Pedaparimi in Thullur mandal of Guntur district.
