Two men were found dead in an autorickshaw under a flyover on Wednesday morning after allegedly injecting a drug. The Chandrayangutta police booked a case.
Chandrayangutta ACP A. Sudhakar said that they received information at around 8.30 a.m. The victims were identified as Jahangir, 27, a resident of Pahadishareef, and Irfan, 25, a resident of Riyasat Nagar in Santosh Nagar. Their families were called to identify the bodies.
An officer close to the probe said that a preliminary enquiry indicated that a third person, also an autorickshaw driver and a friend of the two, survived after taking a lower dose of the same substance. “All three are believed to be addicted to drugs and are suspected to have injected an anaesthetic substance. We are yet to determine the source of the drug,” said the officer.
Further investigation is under way.
