Additional DGP Mahesh Bhagwat inspected the security arrangements for the upcoming Global Summit, scheduled to be held at Future City in Kandukur mandal on December 9, along with Rachakonda Commissioner of Police G. Sudheer Babu and IGP Ramesh Reddy, on Wednesday.
Mr. Bhagwat instructed officials to ensure there were no lapses in security. He said the summit, being organised at an international level under the supervision of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, requires strict measures involving the Law and Order wing, Traffic Police, Special Branch, Intelligence, Octopus, Greyhounds, and Dog and Bomb squads.
Police officials discussed logistical requirements, including barracks, mess facilities, kitchens and toilets. Around 600 delegates representing international investment institutions, multinational companies, domestic organisations and major industrial houses, are expected to attend. A three-tier security system will be put in place for VIP delegates.
Mr. Sudheer Babu said that more than a thousand CCTV cameras were being installed across the summit area and will be linked to the central police control room.
“Additional Traffic personnel will be deployed for free flow of traffic, and marshals will manage diversions, barricades and parking arrangements. Security will be tightened on all designated routes to avoid congestion, and road diversions will be in place for two days for the general public and motorists,” police said.
