Multi-tasking easy for this LDF candidate

A 21-year-old cardamom plantation worker, a postgraduate student, is contesting the local body election in Udumbanchola panchayat in Idukki. A.Aarthiya is contesting as a Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate in Ward 13 of Vallarikkampara under the Udumbanchola panchayat.

From a plantation worker family, she stopped her studies for over a year after completing Plus Two and worked as a cardamom plantation worker to support her family.

Later, she completed degree and joined a postgraduate course at Kattappana Government College.

“I am continuing the cardamom plantation work on Saturdays and Sundays with my mother, Punyanadhi, to pay my fees and other costs and support my family.

“As a plantation worker, I am familiar with the issues faced by cardamom plantation workers and other residents of the Vallarikkampara ward, which allows me to easily find solutions to these problems,” says Ms. Aartiya.
