NTPC Simhadri observed International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) on Wednesday, by distributing a wide range of aids and assistive devices to specially-abled children and individuals within the township and nearby areas.
The distribution followed a detailed assessment camp that was held in August 2025 at the MPDO Office, Parawada.
Beneficiaries received medically certified devices supplied by the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone Ltd., Visakhapatnam, including AK prosthesis, specialised hearing aids, CP chairs, elbow crutches, FROs, rollators, standing frames, pre-FABs, PAN cakes, axillary crutches, knee mobilisers, wheelchairs, tripods, and walking sticks. It was also announced that solar tricycles would soon be delivered.
Sameer Sharma, head of the NTPC Simhadri unit said: “The initiative, implemented under NTPC Simhadri’s CSR–Community Development (CSR-CD) programme, aims to enhance mobility, accessibility, and quality of life for differently abled individuals.”
