The Telangana government will launch its Quantum Technology Strategy on Thursday with an aim to build India’s most advanced quantum innovation ecosystem through a structured and long-term roadmap.

Aligned with the National Quantum Mission, Telangana Quantum Strategy (TQS) is designed to build a unified and progressive roadmap for research, talent, infrastructure, cybersecurity, sectoral pilot projects and global partnerships. The strategy is in line with the State’s ambitious goal of becoming a $3 trillion economy by 2047.

Chief Minister A. Revanth along with IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu will launch the Quantum strategy in the presence of NITI Aayog CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, other members and distinguished fellows of NITI Aayog, several heads of key research institutions from across the country, at a function in the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad on Thursday.

Telangana’s decision to frame a focused strategy comes amid the rapid progress of Quantum technology and its role as a strategic differentiator for economic competitiveness. Accelerating Quantum startups in Telangana with global market access, taking up sector-specific pilot projects, encouraging deep industry-academia collaboration and multi-stakeholder partnerships will be key components of the strategy, the Chief Minister’s office said on Wednesday.

The State government aims to catalyse its existing quantum ecosystem and attract global investments. On the research and innovation front, the objective is to strengthen research by partnering with IIIT-H, IIT-H, the C.R. Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science (AIMSCS) and the Quantum Ecosystems Technology Council of India (QETCI), the CMO said.
