The technical glitches that surfaced in the Vahan software, which disrupted the registration of new vehicles, including the auction of fancy numbers, for about a week, have been rectified significantly. Motor Vehicles department officials were unable to process the registration fees and taxes due to the glitches, creating a huge backlog of new registrations. The breakdown in the software was part of a nationwide issue and the officials took time to fix the glitches in Kerala. Many other States had resolved the problem by Monday and Tuesday. Though the issue has been resolved to some extent, it will take time to clear backlog caused by the shutdown, said officials.
