Expressing confidence that tribal youth would shine in every field, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram said Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) institutions would be strengthened and developed along the lines of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Kendriya Vidyalayas and Sainik Schools.

Traditionally, this dance portrayed everyday life in tribal society, but in recent times, it has also taken on propagandist overtones. Today, no rally or public gathering is considered complete without the ‘Rela song’ and its drum beats.

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the Udbhav-2025, the 6th national EMRS cultural and literary fest and kala utsav at KL Deemed-to-be University near Mangalagiri in Guntur district, he said the students must not only excel academically but also preserve their rich culture and traditions.
He stressed the importance of proficiency in Hindi, English, regional languages and mother tongue education, and applauded Andhra Pradesh for successfully hosting the event.

Calling Udbhav-2025 a “platform for transformation,” Minister for Tribal Welfare Sandhya Rani said the primary goal was to discover young talent, instil confidence and promote cultural learning. She announced that 1,647 students from 405 EMRS institutions nationwide, including 110 from Andhra Pradesh, are participating in the event.
Lauding Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s commitment to tribal welfare, she urged the Centre to sanction more EMRS schools, enhance funding and improve road connectivity in remote tribal areas.
