Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed that works on the 2,500-acre Sports City that can host even Olympics should begin in a year, according to P. Narayana, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development.

Interacting with the farmers of Land Pooling Scheme 2.0., the Minister said on Thursday that the government prioritised infrastructure development on returnable plots.

The government intensified efforts to mobilise farmers for the second phase of LPS for Amaravati capital project. Mr. Narayana and Pedakurapadu MLA Bhashyam Praveen visited Endroyi village of Amaravati mandal in Palnadu district, where they performed puja at a local temple and held discussions with the farmers from four revenue villages participating in the LPS 2.0.

Even before formal notification was issued for the LPS, a farmer, Namburi Balaram, handed over the original documents for four acres of land to the Revenue Divisional Officer in the presence of the Minister.

Mr. Narayana assured the farmers that any issues related to the land pooling process would be addressed immediately. He sought their cooperation in building a world-class capital city, emphasising that smart industries and an airport were essential for boosting land values, job creation and economic growth.
