The authorities of Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple Devasthanam on Friday (December 05) convened a preliminary review meeting at Srisailam of Nandyal district with temple unit heads, engineering officials, supervisors, and the Vedic committee to chalk out arrangements for the Maha Shivaratri Brahmotsavams, scheduled to be organised from February 8 to 18. Maha Shivaratri falls on February 15.
Speakaing to the media, Devasthanam Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao said all departmental wings of the Devasthanam were directed to work in close coordination with the district administration and the Dharmika Parishad to ensure seamless conduct of the 11-day festival. Anticipating higher pilgrim turnout this year, he instructed officials to scale up preparations by 20–30%, strengthen all amenities and complete arrangements by the end of January.
Highlighting the importance of robust queue management, uninterrupted drinking water and snacks for waiting devotees, sturdy queue lines, and timely repairs of public facilities, Mr. Rao said that special focus would be on streamlining Vedic rituals, vahana sevas, darshan timings and traditional temple services without any lapses.
Arrangements for pedestrian devotees from various parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana would be in place at Nagaluti, Pedda Cheruvu, Bheemunikolanu, Kailasa Dwaram and Sakshi Ganapathi localities in and around Srisailam, in coordination with the Forest department.
Traffic regulation, parking expansion, clear signage, and coordination with the Police department were emphasised to avoid congestion during peak days, including the Brahmotsava Kalyanam, Ratham and other key rituals.
The Executive Officer urged the officials to strengthen amenities at Patalaganga, ensure safety measures, improve changing rooms for women, and complete repairs along the steps route. He directed departments to uphold sanitation standards under the “Swachh Srisailam” initiative and support voluntary groups engaged in annadanam.
Floral decorations, cultural programmes and spiritual activities will be organised to enhance the festive ambience, the official maintained.
