Members of Andhra Pradesh Village Revenue Assistants (VRAs) Association staged a protest at Prakasam Bhavan in Ongole on Friday. They have given a representation to Prakasam District Collector to resolve their problems.

They demanded to completely fill the posts of VRO, Record Assistant, Attendant and Night Watchman without any notification, and to provide the salaries to VRAs as per the pay scale. There are about 19,369 people working as VRAs.

During the protest, the members said: “The VRAs have been working in the revenue department for a long time with very low salaries. They play a major role in solving problems of the public. The previous YSRCP government did great injustice to the VRAs by not increasing the salaries.”
