Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan suggested that teachers should stop ‘manufacturing employees’ and instead mould children into high achievers by identifying and nurturing their talents. He stressed the need for proper coordination among students, parents, and teachers, citing the Kerala model known for its global standards in education.

Participating as the chief guest in a Mega Parent-Teacher Meet at Sarada ZP High School here on Friday, Mr Kalyan said parents and teachers should have cordial relations. He observed that a better atmosphere between them would lead to a more positive outlook among the children. He advised students not to take punishments given by teachers to heart, urging them to consider the same as blessings to reach exalted positions, as the teachers’ intention would never be to hurt them.

Teachers not merely impart lessons but lay the path for students’ future, he said. He cautioned both teachers and students to be alert to the attempted politicisation of school matters and the grabbing of school lands, which often leaves them without playgrounds.

Mr. Kalyan said he found that the school did not have enough books in the library and promised to provide a large number of books in Telugu, English, and Hindi to enrich the students’ knowledge. He instructed officials to create a plan for a playground. He exhorted students to try to scale great heights in life by emulating great personalities like A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who became India’s Missile Man from humble beginnings.

Teachers should duly focus on the students’ conduct and see that they did not get addicted to substances like drugs and ganja, which would destroy their lives, Mr. Kalyan added, while expressing the government’s commitment to augmenting school infrastructure and improving educational standards. The government is committed to spending crores of rupees to improve educational outcomes and will ensure accountability for every single rupee spent.

MLA Prathipati Pulla Rao, Guntur ZP Chairperson Kathera Christina, Director of Intermediate Education P Ranjit Basha, Panchayat Raj Commissioner M V R Krishna Teja, Palnadu District Collector Krithika Shukla, headmistress Ratnajyothi, and School Parents’ Committee president Dhanalakshmi were among those present.
