The Manapparai police arrested a Bharatiya Janata Party member on charges of posting controversial messages on a social media platform, which could disturb public peace.Â
The accused, R. Kannan alias Ayothi Kannan, 51, of Kottapatti village in Manapparai taluk was arrested on Thursday. The Manapparai police registered a case against Kannan and got him remanded in judicial custody, said police sources.
