Top seeds Velavan Senthilkumar and Anahat Singh, the reigning men’s and women’s National champions, emerged winners in the HCL Squash Indian Tour 4, which concluded at the Indian Squash Academy in Chennai on Friday.
World No. 46 Velavan beat rising Egyptian talent Adam Hawal 11-7, 11-9, 9-11, 11-4. Meanwhile, Delhi teenager Anahat, the world No. 29, edged out former world No. 10 Joshna Chinappa 11-8, 11-13, 11-13, 11-6, 11-8 in the final.
Senthilkumar, Anahat, Joshna, along with Abhay Singh, will represent India at the World Cup in Chennai starting next week. Mr V. Manikandan, District Revenue Officer and GM (Admin), SDAT, gave away the awards.
