Ten-day annual book fair from December 19

The 29th National Book Fair will be held from December 19 to 28 at the Vel Sokkanathan Thirumana Nilayam in Puducherry.

Organised by the Puducherry Writers Book Society, the exhibition will witness the participation of around 60 publishers and distributors from across the country. Around 60,000 books covering various subjects, literature and competitive examinations will form part of the display at the exhibition, a release here said. 

During the 10-day event, the organisers planned to conduct literary competitions, including elocution and poetry writing for school and college students. There will be daily lucky draw events for book purchasers. Certificates will be issued to those who purchase books worth over ₹1,000 and ₹10,000.

Educational institutions and libraries will be given a discount of 10%. Chief Minister N. Rangasamy will inaugurate the event on December 19, the release said.
