ISCCM advocates for CPR inclusion in school syllabus

Government urged to include Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in school syllabus to make children understand the importance of critical care when people suffer from cardiac related problems. Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) general secretary Sachin Gupta, Association’s Vizianagaram Chapter convener and Sukhibhava Hospital Managing Director P.S.V. Ramarao were speaking at a workshop organised by ISCCM in Sun School on Saturday (December 06, 2025).

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gupta said that the simple techniques learnt in CPR procedure would help people save the lives of persons in risky condition. Dr. P.S.V. Ramarao said that CPR would save precious lives since many youngsters are also being affected by cardiac related and other problems due to drastic changes in lifestyle. He said that the inclusion of CPR in the syllabus would allow children have practical experience and training also. The school chairman Anil Kumar and others were present at the workshop.
