National Lok Adalat preparatory meeting held

Observing that settlement of cases in large number would lessen the burden on the courts, Justice P. Sam Koshy of Telangana High Court, Telangana State Legal Services Authority executive chairman, on Saturday directed the Excise Commissioner to identify the number of cases that can be disposed of in the ensuring National Lok Adalat on December 21.

The judge, at an interactive meeting with the Director General of Police, Excise Commissioner, Hyderabad Police Commissioner and other top officials, sought their cooperation and support in ensuring more number of cases are disposed of during the National Lok Adalat being convened by the National Legal Services Authority.

Compoundable cases related to criminal matters, excise cases, RTC cases, and cheque bounce cases pending in different courts of the State can be settled in the Lok Adalat, according to a press release.
