M.N. Sudhan Appadurai (82), founder and Editor of evening dailies Pirpagal (Tamil) and Afternoon (English), passed away on December 6, 2025, due to age-related illness.
He launched the Afternoon English daily in 1977 along with his father A.E. Solomon Appadurai and founded the Pirpagal Tamil daily in 1981.
He had served as president of the Coimbatore ournalists’ Association. He had held several key positions, including Member of the Diocesan Executive Committee, Secretary and Treasurer of CSI Christ Church, Coimbatore (Trichy Road), Secretary of Bishop Appasamy College of Education, Secretary of the CSI Engineering College in the Nilgiris district, and Correspondent of the CSI Girls’ Higher Secondary School.
