A second-year student of a private women’s arts and science college in Erode got back her original Class XII certificates after two years, following the intervention of the Permanent Lok Adalat.
The student was unable to continue her studies in a college that she had joined earlier due to family circumstances. She had repeatedly approached the college administration to retrieve the original certificates she had submitted at the time of admission. However, the college allegedly refused to return the documents, prompting her to file a petition with the Permanent Lok Adalat.
Upon accepting the petition, V.P. Sugandhi, chairman of the Permanent Lok Adalat, summoned the college authorities and directed them to hand over the student’s original Class XII certificates, which were subsequently returned.
