Student team from Puducherry to participate in finale of Smart India Hackathon 2025

A student team from Women’s Engineering College, Puducherry has been selected to participate in the grand finale of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025 at Manipal University in Jaipur from December 8 to 12.

Organised by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Smart India Hackathon provides a national platform for students to develop innovative, technology-driven solutions to real-life problem statements posed by various Ministries, Departments, and reputed organisations.

According to a press release, the six-member team from Women’s Engineering College, Puducherry, submitted an innovative solution for the problem statement given by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, leveraging advanced technology and India’s NavIC products.

Out of 190 submissions received from across India, only five teams were selected for the Grand Finale. The team from Puducherry will work continuously during the Finale to develop functional prototypes under expert guidance, enhancing their exposure to advanced technologies and competitive problem-solving.

The team will be accompanied by Prof. J. Gandhimohan and Prof. N. Anuratha from Women’s Engineering College.
