Construction of the TIDEL Park at Panjapur, adjacent to the Integrated Bus Terminus, on Tiruchi – Madurai Highway in Tiruchi is making steady progress.

The park, a joint venture of Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) and Electronic Corporation of Tamil Nadu (ELCOT), is being executed at an estimated ₹403 crore. The construction began in February, shortly after Chief Minister M.K. Stalin formally inaugurated the construction work through video conferencing. It is being built on 14.16 acres, next to the integrated bus stand at Panjapur, which has already become operational.

The project was initially planned to be executed at an estimate of ₹315 crore. With the addition of more facilities, the estimate was revised and subsequently increased to ₹403 crore. As per the project, the premises will have a built-up area of about 5,58,000 sq. ft with ground and six floors.

The IT Park, which is said to be one of the biggest parks in the State in terms of the estimate and the total built up area, is set to boast world-class infrastructure to accommodate 10,000 employees, conference hall, data centre, food courts, parking lot and other amenities. It is expected to house Information Technology, Information Technology Enabled Services, Business Process Outsourcing companies and Startups.

Shortly after the start of the construction work, attention was paid to strengthen the ground. According to sources, about two months were devoted for it. The foundation work was taken up subsequently. It was undertaken as per the pile foundation method. The work has almost been completed and the brick work has begun.

Tiruchi Collector V. Saravanan, who visited the construction site to review the progress of the work a few days ago, said it was progressing well. A few facilitation works were to be executed by Tiruchi Corporation and Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation.

The officials were given instructions to expedite the work.

The project is expected to be completed within 2026.
