In a tragic incident, an eleven-year-old boy was killed and his brother was injured after being run over by an APSRTC bus at Ramudupalem village, Indukuripet mandal in SPSR Nellore district on Monday (December 8, 2025) morning.

According to police officials, the accident occurred near Vepachettu Dibba at 8.45 a.m., while the two brothers were riding a bicycle to fix a tyre puncture. In a state of confusion near a culvert, the APSRTC bus driver hit the bicycle, and the rear bus tyre ran over the boy’s head.

Due to negligence of the bus driver, Puli Kiran (11) died on the spot, and his brother Puli Karthik (14) suffered injuries. They were studying Class 6 and 9 respectively at Rangampet Government High School, said the local police.

Indukuripet police registered a case under Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for causing death by rash or negligent act, and began investigation. They seized the bus for the inspection of Motor Vehicles Department officials and took the bus driver into custody.

After the post-mortem examination, the body of the deceased boy was handed over to the parents.
