Amman idol unearthed – The Hindu

An idol of Amman was unearthed near Bhoologanathar Temple at Keezha Kovilpathu near Ammapettai in Thanjavur district on Sunday.

The idol, believed to be made of panchaloka, was found when a pit was dug for planting banana suckers and other plants on the rear side of the temple. About a foot in height, the idol was later handed over to Revenue officials for safe custody.
