A motorist died after ramming his bike into a wall while allegedly fleeing from chasing stray dogs in Rayachoti on Monday (December 08, 2025) early hours.

The deceased identified as Shaik Fazil (28) was a resident of Galiveedu in Rayachoti town and owned a furniture shop on Kadapa Road. According to the police, the deceased was shifting his shop from Kadapa Road to Chittoor Road in the town, and left the shop late in the night to go home.

Around 2.45 a.m., a pack of stray dogs chased him near Apollo Medical Store at Urban Police Station. “Fazil panicked and accelerated his bike. He was looking back at the dogs, leading to the accident. He fell straight into the compound of a temple that was two-feet below the road level and died on the spot,” Rayachoti Traffic Inspector Kulayappa said.

Fazil’s body was shifted to Rayachoti government hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered.
