Thirupparankundram was peaceful, and the outsiders were trying to disrupt peace there for political reasons; they did not know about the significance of the land, said DMK organising secretary R.S. Bharathi.

Addressing journalists ahead of a meeting organised by the Advocates Wing of the INDIA bloc here on Monday (December 8, 2025), he said this year, the kumbhabishekam (consecration) of Sri Subramania Swamy Temple at Thirupparankundram went off smoothly, without any untoward incident. Thousands of devotees from far and near witnessed the event.

With the Assembly elections round the corner and realising that the DMK government had the support of the people, the BJP was trying to use similar tactics it had applied in other States. The party was using Central agencies against the opposition, he added.

Later addressing the advocates at the meeting, Mr. Bharathi said they had faith in the judiciary and respected it. However, when judicial orders caused confusion among the people and disrupted peace, the advocates had the right to point it out and question such orders. In such cases necessary steps would be taken to approach the Supreme Court for justice, he said.

The Communal G.O. issued in 1921 by the Justice Party government had ensured representation for all, particularly in education and jobs. There was unity and harmony in Tamil Nadu. People would not allow any attempts being made to disrupt peace in the State, he said.
