The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Kurnool, Sobha Rani, in her judgement on Monday, convicted Challa Sreenivasulu, Accounts Assistant, O/o. Sr. Divisional Finance Manager (Sr. DFM), South Central Railway, Guntakal Division, Guntakal, and sentenced him to undergo two years rigorous imprisonment and to pay a total fine of ₹20,000, for demanding and accepting a bribe.
It was alleged that the accused Challa Sreenivasulu, was caught red-handed by the CBI, ACB, Visakhapatnam while demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹15,000 from the complainant/contractor, partner of M/s. Global Agency, Bangalore, for processing a bill pertaining to the contract work done by him from July, 2017 to September 2017 for an approximate amount of ₹30 lakh and also for previously sanctioned bills for the period from March, 2017 to May, 2017 and June, 2017 (two bills).
After completion of the trial, the Court convicted the accused Challa Sreenivasulu, for the offences under sections U/S s.7 & 13(2) r/w. 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988.
