Man held for filming woman with malicious intent

Police has arrested a man who allegedly filmed a female homoeopathy doctor with malicious intent while she was walking in Alwarpet. 

The victim, a 30-year-old woman, runs a homoeopathy clinic. According to police, on Friday afternoon, while she was walking along T.T.K. Road in Alwarpet, a man who was following her allegedly recorded her twice on his mobile phone.

After noticing this, the woman informed the police control room and lodged a complaint at a nearby police outpost. Based on her complaint, police personnel at the spot apprehended the man and handed him over to the Teynampet police station.

Following a detailed investigation, the arrested person was identified as Vijayakumar, 47, of Golden George Nagar, Nerkundram, Chennai. The investigation confirmed that he had recorded the woman on his mobile phone. 

Based on the complaint, a case was registered against him under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS Act) and the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act (TNPHW Act).
