A press conference ahead of the festival was addressed by festival patron C. Umamaheswara Rao, festival director Madhu Mahankali and festival advisor Veeraiah Konduri at the Somajigida Press Club on Wednesday (December 17).

The Hyderabad International Short Film Festival will be organised from December 19 to 21 at Prasad’s Multiplex Theatre Screen No. 4 and 5.
According to the organisers, the festival has been conceived with the aim of placing Hyderabad firmly on the global cinema map while providing a platform for young filmmakers to showcase their work and engage with professionals from the film industry.
A special pavilion focusing on filmmakers from the North East has been planned as part of the festival. The pavilion will showcase emerging talent from the region, highlighting both content and cultural expression through short films.
The inaugural edition of the festival received 704 entries from across the world. From these submissions, 60 short films have been selected for official screening, along with 11 films under the focused North East Pavilion. Five classic films will also be screened during the festival, said a release.
