The district-level Task Force Committee has approved the procurement of toor dal from farmers under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme for the 2025–26 season, following orders issued by the State government.
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Fouzia Taranum on Thursday. Under the scheme, toor dal will be procured at ₹8,000 per quintal, with a ceiling of four quintals per acre, based on the cultivated area reflected in the FRUITS software.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that if market prices remain higher than the MSP, the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India would procure toor dal through the e-auction portal of the Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMCs) and in the open market at rates higher than MSP for buffer stock purposes.
For Kalaburagi district, the Karnataka State Pulses Development Board and the Karnataka State Cooperative Marketing Federation have been designated as State procurement agencies. Toor dal will be procured through 141 Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Societies (PACCS) and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) across the district.
The Deputy Commissioner said that registration and procurement at purchase centres would be carried out using Point of Sale machines, and Aadhaar-based biometric authentication would be mandatory. She appealed to farmers to cooperate with the procurement agencies to ensure smooth implementation of the scheme.
The registration of farmers under the MSP scheme will be open till March 6, while procurement of toor dal from registered farmers will continue till March 16. The payment for the procured produce will be made directly to farmers’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer portal.
Ms. Taranum urged farmers to approach their nearest PACCS, FPOs or toor dal procurement centres at APMCs to register within the stipulated time and avail the benefits of the MSP scheme.

Joint Director of Agriculture Samad Patel, Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies Kishor Patil, Assistant Director of the APMC Department Santosh, and officials from procurement agencies and the Pulses Development Board were present at the meeting.
